Electrogrip was formed in 1991 by Chris M. Horwitz.

In 1995 Electrogrip started manufacturing at Lexington Technology Park, Pittsburgh PA.

In 2005 it moved into its current 40,000 sq. ft. building with a 3,000 sq. ft. cleanroom and expanded processing capability.
